“Sketching is an expressive forecast, in a drawing, of something that might become.”

Jo Coenen is a prominent and internationally established architect, urbanist and professor, recently nominated curator and director of the IBA-Parkstad, International Building Exhibition.

The exhibition Signed, Jo Coenen. presents an impressive selection of Coenen’s sketches, drawings and visions for the first time in public. These major works provide an insight into the searching and into the vulnerable process of creation. A cinematic portrait focuses on Jo Coenen’s role as doyen and professor, as Chief Government Architect of the Netherlands, and as the curator-director of IBA Parkstad.

Internationally recognised curator of the exhibition is Saskia van Stein, Artistic Director of Bureau Europa, Maastricht.

The vernissage of Signed, Jo Coenen. will take place on 27 September 2014, from 17.00 until 19.00. Ger Koopmans, Executive Councillor for Culture, Limburg, will officially open the show in presence of Jo Coenen.

Signed, Jo Coenen. is presented from 28 September to 9 November 2014, Wednesday to Sunday, from 11.00 until 17.00 at Bureau Europa, Timmerfabriek, Boschstraat 9, 6211 AS Maastricht, the Netherlands.
